Ocean Ridge Cape Cod Escape

This home is located in a beautiful cliff side neighborhood in Huntington Beach, California. We helped our client create a full house remodel of their ocean front home, from the entry to the kitchen, up and around to the home office. When the family relocated to California from the East Coast, they craved a design reminiscent of their home town for their family of four to enjoy.

We created a grand entry way with wainscot wall moldings that spread through the dining room for the perfect transition. We gave the kitchen a face lift by adding upper cabinetry to fill in the empty and waisted space above the upper cabinets, along with a tongue and grove ceiling wrapped with thick crown molding, making the kitchen look large and grand. The t&g ceiling and crown molding flowed through the entire first floor and into the main living area framing in the look of this Cape Cod Escape. We built a custom build-in entertainment center with shelves to show off their favorite decor, and doors to hide their toys, we created a media center the entire family can appreciate. To separate the main family room from the den, we built a custom barn door to create privacy between the two spaces. As you walk upstairs, the wainscot wrapped through the staircase and down the hall way where it meets the shiplap wall in the upper level loft. In this loft we custom built another entertainment unit to house the family electronic game collection. Crown molding, window casing, door casing and baseboard was also installed throughout the first and second story of this home. Finally, we finished off this project with a home office remodel for Dad.

This Cape Cod inspired everyday ocean escape is one of our favorite projects in our gallery as it brings a little bit of the East Coast lifestyle to the beautiful West Coast of California.
